When a business orders shirts or caps with its logo, the first question is usually how the logo goes on. We offer two methods: DTF printing and embroidery. Each has a place.
What DTF printing is
DTF stands for direct-to-film. Your design is printed onto a film and then heat-pressed onto the garment. Because it is a print, it can carry full-color artwork, gradients and fine detail, and it can be large.
Choose DTF printing for:
- T-shirts, long sleeves, tanks and hoodies
- Full-color logos or artwork with fine detail
- Large designs on the front or back
- Event shirts, school spirit wear and group orders
What embroidery is
Embroidery stitches your logo into the fabric with thread. The result is raised and textured, and it reads as part of the garment.
Choose embroidery for:
- Caps, trucker hats and beanies
- A small logo on the left chest of a sweatshirt or tee
- Staff uniforms and client gifts where a stitched logo suits the look
Three questions that settle it
- What is it going on? Headwear usually points to embroidery or a patch. T-shirts usually point to DTF printing.
- How detailed is the artwork? Small text, gradients and many colors print cleanly. Simple, bold logos stitch well.
- How big should it be? Large designs are a job for printing. A small chest or cap logo suits stitching.
